The EISS, founded in 1968, is an international, inter-professional and multidisciplinary scientific organization with the purpose of gathering specialists in social security coming from all over Europe and beyond.

Our Institute aims to create a thought-provoking European platform in the field of social security for those interested and/or working in the field of social protection. Our members include lawyers, sociologists, economists, administrators and judges. They are working in scientific institutions, social security institutions and organizations and public administration.

The main activities of the EISS include the organization of conferences, training programs and research projects for different national, European and international funders. In essence our activities consist of the study of social security from an international, multi-disciplinary and comparative point of view.
