2026 YOUNG RESEARCHERS SCHOOL


The European Institute of Social Security is pleased to announce a new Young Researchers School in Spetses, Greece. The event aims to gather (PhD-)researchers from all over Europe, to spend an intensive week together discussing their research, presenting their work and attending lectures. Afterwards, the participants can return home with new insights and interesting connections.

 


Who?

Researchers working on a project or PhD students researching in the broad field of social security have the opportunity to learn more about social security and research methodology, while discussing their own research with fellow researchers and experienced teachers from all over Europe.

 

What? 

All participants gather in Spetses where they have the opportunity to present their research, and receive feedback from their fellow participants as well as professors and lecturers who are renowned experts in the field of social security. These discussion sessions have proven to be extremely beneficial to starting researchers. At the end of the YRS, all participants receive a certificate of participation.

 

When?

The week of lectures and discussions in Spetses is planned from 8 to 12 June 2026.

 

Where?

In order to create an optimal environment for a productive and inspiring week, the Young Researchers School takes a distance from the rush of daily life and is organized at an idyllic location. In 2026, it will take place on the beautiful island of Spetses in Greece.

 

Registration Fee.

The standard registration fee is €850. Members of the EISS can participate for €750. The fee includes coffee breaks, an excursion, and a farewell dinner. 


Travel and Stay.

Participants should arrange their own travel and stay. The organizers have made an agreement with the event venue that participants can stay on-site with breakfast and lunch included for €88/night. This is highly recommended!


You can contact the international office of your home university to see if you are eligible for Erasmus+ funding.


Notice.

The Young Researchers School requires a minimum of 15 participants to take place.

You can apply until 15 March 2026 by sending a filled out version of the application file to info@eiss.be, along with the documents specified below.

  • Short outline of your PhD proposal / Research proposal (max. 1 page)
  • Motivation letter
