INSTITUTIONAL COOPERATION

Organización Iberoamericana de Seguridad Social (OISS)

On 27 April 2026, a working meeting took place at the headquarters of the Ibero-American Social Security Organisation (OISS) in Madrid between OISS Secretary General Gina Magnolia Riaño Barón and EISS President Danny Pieters. The meeting aimed to reinforce institutional cooperation between the two organisations. Discussions focused on two main areas.

First, both parties agreed to promote joint initiatives in training and capacity-building, with a view to exchanging knowledge and strengthening technical expertise in the field of social security across the Ibero-American and European regions.

Second, they examined the importance of improving coordination of the Ibero-American Multilateral Social Security Agreement (CMISS) within the European context, highlighting its role as a key instrument for ensuring the portability of pension rights for migrant workers and fostering greater alignment between social security systems across regions.
