Our presidium

The presidium is the executive board of the EISS.

Our institute is presided by prof. Jos Berghman, professor of sociology at the KU Leuven (Belgium).

He is assisted by 4 vice-presidents: Mr. Chris Gibbon of the IBM Social Segment of the United Kingdom; prof. Franz Marhold of the University of Graz in Austria and Dr. Sara Stendahl of the Gothenburg University of Sweden. The name of the fourth vice-president will follow as soon as possible.

The presidium is completed by the secretary general, a task which is taken up by prof. Danny Pieters, professor of (European) social security law of the KU Leuven (Belgium).

The bureau and national sections

The members of the Bureau are the representatives of the active national sections and working groups.

Our members

Our members have different academic and professional background but are all interested and active in the field of social security and social protection in Europe.

At the momen the EISS has a total of 227 members coming from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
