Workshop for Young Researchers

on Comparative Social Security and Social Protection Research

Graz, 3rd - 9th of June 2012

The European Institute of Social Security is pleased to announce the 2012 Workshop for Young Researchers on Comparative Social Security and Social Protection Research, which will take place from the 3rd to the 9th of June 2012 in the beautiful town of Graz in Austria.
 
Over the years this workshop has developed into a PhD workshop where those starting on their PhD (at least one year progress) were able to present and discuss their PhD research and used methodology while at the same time attend several lectures on comparative research in the field of social security and on the methodology used.

This year we re-design the Workshop and give all researchers, including the more experienced researchers as well as the PhD students, who are preparing a research assignment in the field of social security the opportunity to benefit from the contacts and discussions with fellow researchers coming from all over Europe. Thus we invite not only the ‘lesser experienced’ researchers and PhD-students who are at the start of their research assignment / PhD-proposal to present and discuss their work and to learn more on the methodology of a research, but in the second half of the week we also invite the more experienced researchers to present and discuss their on-going research and to benefit from the experiences of fellow researchers and professors involved in this Workshop. 

The professors/lecturers involved in this Workshop are experts in the field of social security and are associated with universities from all over Europe.

Researchers with no more then 2 years experience can participate in the whole Workshop week, while the more experienced researchers register only for the second part of the Workshop. The registration fee for a full week participation (including accommodation in a single room (6 nights (arriving Sunday 3rd and leaving Saturday 9th of June) including breakfast, lunch (one beverage included), coffee breaks, excursion and farewell dinner) is 690,00 EUR for EISS-members and 750,00 EUR for non-EISS-members. 

The registration fee for the 2-day Workshop for the more experienced researchers (including accommodation in a single room (3 nights (arriving Wednesday 6th and leaving Saturday the 9th of June)) including breakfast, lunch (one beverage), coffee breaks and farewell dinner) is 350,00 EUR for EISS members and 395,00 EUR for non-EISS-members. 

The fee has to be paid beforehand. An invoice is send after the acceptance of your application.

All researchers interested in participating in this Workshop for Young Researchers are invited to apply for admission by sending in the application form to the address below no later than the 1st of March 2012.

The number of participants will not exceed 30 persons in total. A minimum of 10 participants is needed to organise the Workshop. Decisions on admission will be notified by the 15th of March 2012; in case of admission, the participant will have to send in his/her presentation paper at the latest by 20th of April 2012.
